ABOUT US

Living In Recovery, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2010 by a group of volunteers committed to a dream of bringing the first certified Recovery Residence to Howard County. We currently operate two Recovery Residences supporting men and women in early recovery. Since 2010, have helped over 400 in early recovery, and more than 65% of our residents have remained clean and sober while in residence.

EMPLOYEES AND STAFF

jessica matthews

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Jessica shares that her personal journey led her to Living In Recovery: “The passion and gratitude I have for this organization turns work into service; a place where I want to be rather than a place I have to be.” Jessica plays a lead role in developing and implementing programs and activities; supporting peer recovery specialists; and coordinating interviews, intakes, and discharges. She has tremendous insight and knowledge into community needs, advocating and volunteering wherever possible. She has brought this insight and knowledge to the forefront, and she demonstrates her leadership skills by supporting a team to provide a safe, clean recovery atmosphere with accountability and structure in each of our family-style homes. She loves being part of a team that contributes to long-term measurable and successful outcomes for LIR residents.

BOARD PRESIDENT

Roger joined Recovery Care Partner to help men new in recovery stay safe by teaching them to thrive in environments free of drugs and alcohol. He helps them create new patterns and routines through the stable structures of the recovery community. And he connects them with recovering men so they can experience the support of working through common challenges. Roger believes that newly sober men can avoid triggers and improve their lives when they surround themselves with other men who understand the feelings and emotions experienced in early recovery.

Roger is a husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, but his recovery is what allows all the other titles to be a healthy reality.
